A flat while in balance

I got a flat while in Balance today. It didn't tip
over or crash down into 4-Wheel Drive. It was completely
flat, but I could roll on it. Of course I rolled on it
as little as possible. And I did put it down into
standard and soon as I could, just to be safe.

I'm a little perturbed that I got another flat. This
is the second one I've gotten in the few months I've
had the BOT. Seems excessive to me, but then again,
I've never had a powerchair before so maybe this is
normal.

In the 2-1/2 years my wife's been in her powerchair she's never had a flat. We have had to top up the tire pressure every few months. But you've been more adventurous & have done lots more outdoor wheeling.

why arent your tires gel-filled?

Anonymous, why do you assume they are not? :P

If I remember correctly, which is quite questionable, the bike shop didn't have gel to put in them. I do remember asking about it. I'll ask again today when I go in.

K, next time I'll try to be more smarter.

Seriously, I didn't do anything stupid. I.T. doesn't recommend putting gel in them. My rep never mentioned anything about it either.

At the bike shop today they said they didn't carry it. They said they didn't like to use it because it's really messy.

Hope you don't wake up on the wrong side of the bed again tomorrow.

Can you fold the seat forward or backwards to reduce the height of chair for transporting?? If so do you know what height is?

Although I haven't done it, I heard that it can be folded forward. Apparently this is a good idea when traveling in an airplane because if it isn't folded forward, it is too high to go into the belly of the plane and so they have to tip it on it's side to get it in... Or so I've heard.

I'm not sure how far it folds forrward, but I'll see if I can break it, I mean fold it, tomorrow.

Yes, the seat back can be tilted forward. However, it isn't much. It makes a difference of maybe 2 inches.

Thanks checking the folded seat. I get my bot on Feb 7th.

I just spoke with someone and I am wrong about the back folding down only a little. It actually folds back so that the top of the backrest actually almost touches the floor. I'm going to mess with it in a while and I'll take a picture.

Spoke with IT. They said to not put gel in the tires. It messes with the balance and stair climbing functions.
