It's a snake!

At my parents house the other day, my daughter, sister,
and brother-in-law searched for snakes and lizards.

They found two lizards and 7 snakes. This one was tiny and
the only one they could catch.

I would have liked to be down there with them, but at least I
got to watch from the house. Now if I had an iBOT.... :D

Praying Mantis

About a month ago we bought an egg sac of
praying mantids. It is about the size of
a shooter marble. It said there were about
1,000 eggs in it. We hung it on a bush
outside, and yesterday G founds one of the
babies. This is the only one we could
find. Maybe the others left already, or
perhaps this guy ate his brothers and
sisters.

A couple of recent photos...

Carnation

This is a carnation from my friend H's
garden. I was unable to capture it's
true beauty, but it doesn't even look
like a real flower, does it?

24 hrs in Salt Lake City

I'm very disappointed in the photos, but here are
some of them anyway.

The beautiful Mt Hood as I was leaving Portland:

A couple shots from downtown Salt Lake city:

From our drive in the mountains: These photos didn't turn out well.

Just because I'm blog happy...

This is my neighbor's bird. He doesn't
like me. Maybe it's because I stick my
camera in his face.

Isn't he pretty though?

Ah darn, I have more photos, but the kid
is ready to go par-tay.

Clouds

I'm into photographing clouds lately. I know,
I know, lots of talent that takes, huh? :D

There were some awesome clouds last night:

iBOTless

I've got an immense headache. It's really bad.
And in just a little while I get to go spend
2 1/2 hours with hundreds of very excited children.
Yippee.

I had two recent invites that I had to turn down.
I wouldn't have had to turn either one down if I
had an iBOT. And they both would have potentially
helped me in my desire to sell my photography.

The first invite was from a professional photographer.
Her work is really amazing. She was having a little
get together and she invited me, but guess what? The
party was at her house and her house has steps leading
to the front door. Could've been a great networking
opportunity for me.

The second invite was from a jewelry maker. She was
also having a party, where there were bound to be lots
of creative people. But again, it was at her house and
her house has steps to the front door.

Sigh.

Please let me sleep

I can see how many people look at my blog everyday.
I do not know who looks, but I can tell how many look.
At the very least, 5 I don't know who people come here
every day. Because of this, I feel guilty that I hardly
write anything these days. I mainly haven't been here
much because a) ain't nuthing going on with the iBOT
stuff (not much anyway), and b) I'm not a good writer.
If I read someone else's blog, I think "Wow, (s)he is such
a good writer. What's with me thinking I should have
a blog?" So I've been feeling self-conscious about
writing.

But I'm here today because like I said earlier, I feel
guilty that there are people checking it everyday and
there usually isn't anything new. Okay, and I'll admit
it, I'm also here because I should be cleaning. I'm
just so tired though, thanks to Gus and Mike.

Two nights ago Gus thought he was a puppy
again and he tore around the house all night,
waking me up numerous times. I have hardwood floors,
and his claws tearing up the floors wakes me up. Everything
will be dead quiet and he'll be sleeping on the floor
when all of sudden he jumps to his feet and runs. At
first he doesn't have traction, so all four of his
legs are running, but he isn't going anywhere. It's
kinda funny, but not at 2am. It makes a lot of noise.
It does a number on my floors too. The floors in my bedroom
are so bad that a person could easily get splinters
if they walk on it with bare feet. I figure there
is no point in getting them fixed though when he'll
just tear them up again.

So I got very little sleep that night. Then this
morning, my cat wanted me to get up and feed him
at 5:30. He succeeded by walking back and forth
across my face while yowling. There was no point
in going back to bed after that when the alarm was
set for 6:30.

I have some photos that I wanted to post, but I
need to pick up the kid. I might come back later
and post them. I might not. :D
