TopChair

I'm really interested in this chair and there
is very little information about it on the
internet. Check this out though:

http://pagesperso-orange.fr/topchair/comment3E.htm

Their webpage says the project started in 2001, but
I'm wondering how long it's been on the market.
Selling price? Can you raise the seat so that
you are eye level with a standing adult? Does
it go through sand and gravel? These are the
things I need to find out.

Thanks for the link. Right after I sign the contract for the iBOT you show me something better. Seriously, I like it. Much better for stairs than the iBOT. I'm guessing not as good on sand and rough terrain but then, it does use treads. It does not appear to be available here yet. I sent them an e-mail and will report their response. There is also a chair called a P.A.W.S. I saw that looks promising.

I wouldn't say it's better than the iBOT. For climbing stairs, yes, it appears better. I'm thinking for sand and rough terrain, the iBOT is better (but I'm only guessing). My favorite function in the iBOT though is balance function. I really like being at standing adult eye level.

I wonder if you could cancel your order with iBOT?

If given the choice between the iBOT and the TopChair, I'm pretty sure I'd pick the iBOT... although the stair climbing on the TopChair looks excellent. I wish I could have both!!! Or even better, combine the two. If I had the money, I'd hire an engineer to build me the perfect chair. Wouldn't that be nice?

I sent them an email as well. Please let me know if they respond to you, as will I.

I hadn't heard of PAWS before. There seems to be even less information on the internet about it than the TopChair.

There is a rumor out there that Johnson & Johnson has decided to stop producing the ibot wheelchair...This would be a tragedy. Please pass this around to gain momentum in stopping this terrible decision....This wheel chair has helped thousands of people across the US..
